There is nothing more I love than a really nice dinner party and this one will go down as one of my favorites for sure. Maria’s parents had prepared a feast, strung the lights in the backyard and had everything ready…if only it hadn’t been raining. Rain has somehow been part of all of their bridal events (keeping my fingers crossed that means it’s getting it all out of it’s system and wont rain on their wedding day). Thankfully the rain stopped just before their guests started to arrive.
I am a total sucker for really great food and really awesome details and this party was overflowing with both of those. I loved the table decorations which were all cutely tied pots of herbs that acted as edible party favors. Who doesn’t love that? They had lights strung over the pool, a man playing the accordion and I got to snap some Polaroids of all the guests to take home.
So the foodie in me has to talk about the food for just a second. This wasn’t just a simple buffet, this was an Italian feast! From the moment I walked into the house the delicious smell blew me away. The dinner spread had everything from sausage and peppers, to homemade meatballs and sauce to prosciutto wrapped cantaloupe and of course some antipasti and caprese salad on a skewer. But it didn’t stop there, there was another spread of just desserts which included homemade cannolis that got stuffed right before my eyes, pizzelles, and biscotti among other things. And if it couldn’t get any better the night was topped off with expresso and homemade limoncello.
The food was absolutely amazing and beautiful! The only thing more beautiful was the gorgeous bride to be and her STUNNING engagement ring!! Most of you know that I love me some beautiful unique rings so you can imagine my reaction when I saw her beautiful pink diamond. It perfectly suits her and is by far the most beautiful ring I’ve seen to date!
All and all this engagement party was perfect! Maria & John have the sweetest family and group of close friends anyone could ask for! I can’t wait to capture their wedding in St. Augustine!
